Firm for the Culture | I'm Not Running Away.
I'm stronger this time. | I am what an Intellectual Property Attorney looks like.
‘Tis the season to be reflective.
And oh, what a year it has been.
While catching up with a good friend last week, she reminded me of the growth, resilience, and determination my team and I exhibited this year.
Indeed, things that once made me run for the hills now make me roll up my sleeves.
Debilitating anxiety that would paralyze me in yesteryear now motivates me to go further.
If you started a business before 2023 and you’re still standing, you can likely understand that business growth and sustainability has required you, over and over again, to become stronger, wiser, more patient, and braver.
For the race is not given to the swift, but to the one that endureth.
So in this week’s Founders’ Letter, we’re going to discuss three necessary reminders that you can return to over and again as you continue to scale your impact.

“You’re Stronger Than You Think.”
I’ve probably shared this statement with our clients far more times this year than any other year since we’ve launched Firm for the Culture.
It makes sense, after all.
This year was not for the faint of heart.
From international conflicts to market downturns and so much more, entreprenuers and social impact organizations alike have had to get creative when it came to serving communities and clients.
Indeed, marketing strategies that were once met with applause and heightened sales in 2020 are not being met with deafening silence in 2023.
It was truly a year where creativity was crucial.
But we’ve made it through.
So here’s how we’ll continue to make it over.
As we continue on our unique journeys of purpose, whether it be entreprenuership, intraprenuership, or somewhere in between, remember that you’ve overcome hard things and that you can do it again.
For example, when I was hit with very real financial challenges in my business, my therapist reminded me that I not only survived, but thrived in overcoming Section 8 Housing, food stamps, and economic hardship.
In such spaces, creativity was my key to thriving, so instead of treating this growth opportunity as a new and terrifying challenge, I saw it as a past experience brought back to my forefront in different form.
It’s was a remix, y’all…
And just as my family and I learned to make a dollar out of 15 cents, this year was yet another opportunity for our team to flex our creative muscles.
In leveraging technology and tech, we engaged our clients more readily, showered them with small business and intellectual property resources, and sought their feedback.
We’re now proud to say, we have over 65 five star google ratings and several high impact clients who have returned to us over and over again.
You’ve done hard things before.
Surely, you can do them again.
You’re not in the same place you were when you dealt with this same issue last time.
You’re farther ahead because of the wisdom and experience you’ve gained.
If you’re anything like me, difficult to navigate situations can often put us in a state of powerlessness while reminding us of times we felt alone.
But if you’re a part of this Founders’ community, know that there are people just like you.
Indeed, from social impact entreprenuers, to impact investors, to 9-5ers, to single mothers, to new dads, to college athletes, to NFT experts and beyond, you’re in a community that has been specifically curated to ensure you do not feel alone on your journey to purpose.
Literally the Firm for the Culture.
With this and other resources like our free Founders’ workshops, discounts to mental health resources, and tech applications to keep you accountable, you’re in a great place to dream big and play bigger.
Hardships are not a indictment of your purpose.
Instead, hardships can serve as indicators of the impact tied to you acheiving your biggest goals.
Recently I shared the story of Warren Buffet, who made 90% of his fortune AFTER he turned 55.
Indeed, the FIRST 55 years of his life were spent striving for the things he accomplished in the NEXT 10.
How? He held on, despite not seeing tangible results early on, he held on to his assets.
Through dark times…
Through years of abundance…
Through years of lack when it was easier to sell…
He held on.
Why am I sharing this?
Because like many of you, I’ve found myself in a season where I didn’t feel like holding on.
Indeed, for many of us, it’s hard to see the big win as while toiling away in obscurity.
But I'm here to tell you to keep going.
Keep holding on.
Keep dreaming.
Keep moving.
God is working.
Conclusion: I’m Not Running Away This Time.
This is not the season to give up.
This is the season to be reminded of your power.
Rest if you need to.
But do not give up.
Cry if you need to.
But don’t you dare give up.
Because in the end, your impact is going to take shape.
As you continue on your own journey, I hope you take these reminders to heart.
We at Firm for the Culture are here to guide, support, and walk alongside you every step of the way.
