Firm for the Culture | Success & Self Doubt
Fearlessness is the Antithesis of Courage. Let's Get Into It.
“…But you have so much evidence; why are you still insecure?”
That was my therapist just a few days ago, shortly after I shared with her that I was still struggling with self-doubt after keynoting a successful graduation speech at the Meta-Sponsored Diversity in Intellectual Property Day:
When you’re playing big, the feeling of “never good enough” or “not enough” may perpetually tug at your psyche, all in efforts to stymie your path to purpose.
You may compare yourself to others who seem more successful than you.
You may question whether your efforts will materialize into the impact you’ve envisioned.
Or, if you’re anything like many of our amazing clients, you may be discouraged by the long road to purpose.

But we’re not losing this time.
We’re going to discuss three ways to move away from self-doubt as you sojourn your path to success.

My therapist was up to something when she encouraged me to do this.
A lawyer turned psychiatrist, she pushed me to review the “evidence” of my journey; I encourage you to review the evidence as well.
In the face of self-doubt, reflecting on small wins can provide just the “evidence” needed to boost your motivation and keep you progressing.
Remember instances where you stepped out of your comfort zone, faced your fears, or took risks?
That email you were dreading?
Kudos on hitting the “send” button.
The boundaries you didn’t want to set?
Kudos for setting them.
These small but mighty moments demonstrate your courage and willingness to embrace growth.
Let’s stop setting ourselves up for failure, fam.
If you’re running off of three hours of sleep, you’re likely not going to be as productive as you’d prefer.
If you haven’t eaten in a few hours, that headache is likely not going away.
I get it; there are times when “powering through it” may seem like the admirable thing to do.
But we can only go so long before realizing that we, too, are human.
Practicing self-compassion as you engage your journey is not simply a “nice to do,” it’s a necessity for longevity.
We want you here for a long time, not just a good time.
At Firm for the Culture, we make it a point to have monthly community check-ins with our clients; because entrepreneurship and social impact can be a lonely journey at times, having a supportive community can work wonders for the psyche and the soul.
Whether through my favorite app Groove or through a local networking event, find like-minded individuals who understand the challenges you face and can offer encouragement and advice.
Sharing your experiences and learning from others can help you navigate self-doubt and find inspiration for your journey.
Face the Doubt, Unleash Your Potential.
I'll be honest - tackling self-doubt can be overwhelming.
But there's strength in acknowledging our fears.
In boldly pushing forward despite the odds.
And in silencing the voice that whispers, "you can't."
It's through these moments we rise.
So, fellow trailblazers, confront the doubt.
Embrace the unknown.
For extraordinary achievement awaits.
