I have a hard time celebrating my birthday..
Growing up in the projects of Brooklyn, New York, birthdays were often just another day of the week:
And after having my most memorable birthday, my “sweet 16,” months after my big brother passed away, I haven’t been much of a birthday girl.
But for this birthday, I am going to shout myself out, darn it.
Ruky, I am proud of you.
As a first generation…everything, you did the thing you said you would do. You became a lawyer.
You passed both the Cali & NY bars (humble flex…).
You started Firm for the Culture after working in the Silicon Valley for years.
You have full time brilliant team members who trust you with their career journey (#expansion).
You have about 200 clients with a 95% success rate at the USPTO (the national average hovers at around 43%).
You purchased a house as a full time entrepreneur.
You’ve encouraged and literally helped build the businesses, as well as the goods and services, over over 100 clients.
You’ve brought joy to so many by standing in my authenticity.
You’re healing old wounds that would wreak havoc on you in the past.
You’ve accepted love and honor from people intentional about guarding your heart.
Baby Girl, you’ve come a long way….
I’m proud of you.
I honor you.
And I say…keep going.
Keep thriving.
God is working.
And I want to take this time to remind you, friend.
You can encourage yourself as well.
Comment below, what’s one thing you can say to encourage yourself?
I’ll give you some starting points:
You’ve come a long way.
You’ve believed in yourself when others doubted your capacity.
You thrived in darkness.
You kept working in obscurity.
So keep going.
Your purpose is waiting.
And if you wanna join the almost 200 clients in protecting your brand as you scale your impact, start here.

See you next time.

Hooray for celebrating yourself and sharing it out loud! What a good reminder to us all to do the very same, everyday and on special days like birthdays. I say to myself: I'm proud of you for following the quiet whisper and bravely turning that into a roar!
Happy Birthday again!
Self Encouragement: I have excelled while overcoming hardships. I can continue to excel.
